Molasses Cookies

3/4 cup vegetable oil1 cup sugar1 cup molasses2 eggs1 cup sour milk, or buttermilk1 tsp. baking soda5 cups flour1/2 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. ground cloves2 tsps cinnamon2 tsps ground ginger1 cup raisins
Mix together the oil and sugar. Add the molasses and 2 eggs. Add the baking soda to the sour milk (mix the milk with a tablespoon of vinegar if not sour) and wait until it foams. When the milk
starts foaming, add it to the molasses mixture.
Sift the flour, salt, cloves, cinnamon and ginger into a bowl. Add the flour mixture to the molasses mixture. Stir just until smooth. Add raisins.
Drop onto greased cookie sheet or use silicon baking mats. Bake @ 350F for 10-12 minutes
Remove from sheet and cool on rack.
