1 tbs EVOO1 lb sweet italian sausage (casings removed)3-4 cloves of garlic (chopped)1/2 c chicken or vegetable broth28 oz crushed tomatoes1/2 c heavy cream1 cup frozen green peas24 leaves fresh basil (torn or thinly sliced)1 lb penne rigateor shells (cooked to al dente)Grated Italian cheese for passing
heat skillet over medium high heat
Add EVOO, 1 turn of pan
Add sausage meat. Crumble as it browns
Add chopped garlic to pan
When all crumbles have browned evenly, deglaze the pan drippings using the broth.
Stir in crushed tomatoes and bring sauce to a bubble, then reduce heat to simmer.
Stir cream into sauce
Season w/ salt & pepper
Stir peas & basil into your sauce to combine
Toss hot drained pasta in pan w/ sauce.
