Ingredients
Ingredients:2 cups Flour, white1 cup Whole Wheat Flour1 cupMilk, 2%1/4 cup water2.5 tsp Yeast1 tbsp Margarine, hard2 tbsp Granulated Sugar1 tsp Salt 2 cups shredded Cheddar Cheese, divided into 1/2 cup and 1.5 cups
Directions
Makes 12 servings. Warm milk and water with margarine in it. Add to mixer bowl and sprinkle sugar and yeast over it. Allow to set for 5 minutes. Add flour and salt and using dough hook, allow to mix until dough forms a ball on the hook. Remove dough and place in an oiled bowl (turn once to coat outside of dough ball with a bit of oil). Allow to rise in a warm draft free place for 1 hour. Punch down and roll out into a rectangle. Sprinkle 1.5 cups shredded cheese onto dough and, if desired, seasonings like garlic and/or onion powder. Roll up, jelly roll style, and seal. Sprinkle 1/2 cup cheddar cheese onto the top of bread after slicing 3 or 4 diagonal cuts (like french bread). Allow to rise an additional 1/2 hour. Bake in 350 degree oven until done (about 20 minutes).
