500g Braising Steak1 tbsp olive oil200g shallots200g mushrooms1 large carrot sliced1 clove garlic, crushed2tbsp cornflour (cornstarch)125ml beef stock125ml red wine1 bay leaf2 tsp oregano
1. Brown beef and remove from pan
2. Heat oil and add shallots, mushrooms, garlic and carrots
3. Once browned, stir in flour
4. Add stock & wine and heat until sauce thickens
5. Add beef, bay leaf and oregano
6. Cook at 175 for 2 hours, or 4-5 hours in a slow cooker
