Old Fashioned Chili

1 Tbsp vegetable oil1 lb lean ground beef1 lb lean stew beef cubes1 medium onion, chopped1 tsp black pepper1 tsp kosher salt1 green bell pepper, chopped1 14.5 oz can of white kidney bean (cannellini), drained1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes with green chilies1 14.5 oz can beef broth2 Tbsp chili powder1 Tbsp minced garlic2 tsp oregano1 beef bouillon cube1 tsp cumin (omit for turkey chili)shredded cheddar cheese (optional)hot sauce (optional)sour cream (optional)
In a large & deep frying pan, heat oil over medium flame then add beef, onion, salt and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until ground beef is cooked through. Drain fat & add to slow cooker.
Add all remaining ingredients (except cheese, sour cream & hot sauce) to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Stir well before serving. Top with sour cream, cheese, and hot sauce as desired.
