¡á1 pound seitan (the White Wave brand is good), sliced into strips¡á¨ö onion, sliced into half rounds¡á8 ounces mushrooms, sliced¡á1 bell pepper, seeded and sliced thin¡á2 carrots, sliced¡á2 celery stalks, sliced¡á1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained¡á1 clove garlic, minced or pressed¡á2 tablespoons low-sodium tamari and 1 tablespoon brown sugar, combined¡á3 cups cooked brown rice¡á1 bunch basil for garnish, rinsed and sliced
Heat a large, sprayed skillet or wok for 3 minutes.
Add the first nine ingredients in the order listed, stirring for 1 minute after each addition.
Serve warm over rice. Garnish with basil.
