2 tbsp olive oil1 medium onion3 stalks celery1 lb ground beef lean8 cups of water2 cans of diced tomatoes4 medium potatoes5 carrots1.5 cup frozen corn1 (10 oz) frozen peas1 cup chopped cabbage
Put the olive oil in bottom of a big pot and then saute the chopped onion and chopped celery. Add the ground beef and cook until brown. Drain the extra fat after browned. Chop the potatoes, cabbage and carrots and add with the water, tomatoes, corn and peas in the pot . Simmer on medium heat for a half an hour, stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper to taste and add the sugar at the end. Makes 12 servings of 1.5 cups each.
