Ingredients
Directions
2 tbsp. I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, Light Spread1 tsp. flour (*this is the secret to make it work*)1/2 cup Skim milk1/2 cup Romano cheese, freshly grated1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated1 garlic clove, freshly grated
1. Grate garlic clove and cheeses in a small bowl
2. Melt margarine in a small saucepan on low heat.
3. When it starts to bubble, add 1 teaspoon of flour, stir constantly with a wisk until blended. It will start to turn more white and thicker than a yellow liquid.
4. Now add the 1/2 cup of skim milk, 1/4 cup at a time, stirring constantly until the mixture starts to bubble.
5. Next, add the 1/4 cup Parmesan and 1/2 cup Romano grated cheese mixture slowly. Stirring constantly, always on low heat. It's ok to remove the pan from heat when you might think it may burn, just stir consistently.
6. Lastly, add the garlic, a dash of black pepper and salt and stir occasionally the sauce simmers until desired thickness, about 5 minutes.
Enjoy over 1 serving of whole-wheat pasta, gnocchi, ravioli, or tortellini! Buon Appetito!
