It wasn't bad. I will say though, I'm sure the flavored ones taste better, because this one tasted a bit doughy. I don't think I would have been able to eat this if I wouldn't have put chocolate chips on top and let them melt into a "frosting." I like that it didn't require eggs. - 5/3/13

Great recipe! I made a few substitutions. I used 1T coconut flour and 1T AP flour. I used only 1T of sugar and used vanilla almond milk. Definitely satisfied my craving! I was afraid the portion size was too small, but it was perfect. I added some Speculoos cookie spread and chocolate soy icecream. - 2/25/13

I've made it once before, didn't have oil, used butter, and I think it was a little too much. Just made it again with coconut flour and coconut oil(another guess on the measuring) and almond milk, and it was really good. Buttery. Will make this way again1 - 2/17/13

Tried this tonight, and it was very good. I added about a tsp of rainbow sprinkles just as an extra treat, and it turned out wonderfully. Helped with my cake craving without letting me go too overboard. - 11/7/12

This little recipe is amazing! I did double it and used 2 TBS of butter instead of oil just because I prefer butter. I couldn't believe the texture and taste! I'm almost sorry I stumbled upon this recipe because it's going to be very difficult to not make this all the time as yellow cake is my fave! - 8/22/12

Not the greatest- doughy in some areas and overcooked in others.
Fix- double the ingredients and put in microwave for 90 seconds (1.5 min). Evenly cooked, good flavor, light and moist. - 10/6/18

As soon as I took mine out of the microwave, I put a Hershey’s kiss right in the middle and let it melt for a minute and it was like a molten cake - 12/3/17

Added a handful of blueberries, then topped with vanilla Greek yogurt and more berries. Tastes like a 1000 calorie restaurant dessert! - 7/10/17

This was sinful. I sprinkled a pinch of cinnamon and sugar on top and enjoyed this goodie warm. I will be making this again. Who says you can't diet and eat cake!? - 6/29/17

Actually moist, which made me really happy. I used coconut oil, which helped to add flavor. Maybe try adding some different flavors to switch it up? Loved it though - 8/11/16

I changed the milk for french vanilla creamer and doubled the baking powder. Turns out great microwaved!!! But... I like the uncooked batter even better 😅 - 6/28/16

Yeah, that'll work. :) Super duper easy (I mixed all in one cup); does the trick to kill a sweets craving. Of course, I thought it looked kinda small so I doubled it and then I realized it says 2 servings up there. I might have felt a little piggy eating double the recipe, but 4 servings it was NOT. - 7/23/14

Wow! Just made this and it was delicious. Following someone elses' example, I substituted butter pecan flavored coffee creamer for the milk. Also doubled the baking powder. I will make this again and again. - 9/26/13

Tried it with cinnamon sugar - overcooked it, was salty and not much taste...don't think it was the recipe as much as it was the cook. Gonna try it again without pam and only half the salt..microwaves all cook differently, it's gotta be in the timing. - 8/29/13

I didn't have milk so I used coffeemate french vanilla creamer and it was AMAZING! Mine was a bit spongy looking so I added a teaspoon of nutella and stirred it up a bit and was one of the best things I've had all day. Might add a bit more baking soda to make it rise more next time. - 8/20/13

This is a great recipe and a real craving buster! One could add many different twists to this recipe. I subbed the vanilla with almond extract and it was great. - 7/18/13

Loved it! I made two, one topped with strawberries and the other I made with coconut milk and topped with fresh coconut. They are pretty small so you really do want to double the recipe. I may even triple it and use a big mug. ;-) Oh and since there no egg, its really not yellow. - 7/18/13

This is amazing.. Really!! I didn't use Pam cause I mixed everything in the mug so as not to dirty an extra bowl and nothing came close to sticking. I also sprinkled about 1/2 Tbsp of cinnamon sugar on top. Delicious and SOOO fast and easy. Ingredients everyone has and no eggs! Brilliant :D - 7/8/13

Yummy! I substituted Splenda brown sugar blend, skim milk & only put 1/2 tbs oil, added a little extra vanilla & it was great. Really small serving though since its a 2 serving recipe. - 2/21/13

Only filled up half the mug, which was actually perfect. I've tried chocolate mug recipes and they are always too sweet. This was perfect. - 1/22/13
