Spice Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

CakeBrown the butter, add spices and cool down to room temp. * Butter, unsalted, 2 tbsp * Cinnamon, ground, 1 tbsp * Cardamom, ground, .75 tsp * Allspice, .5 tsp * Cloves, ground, .5 tsp * Nutmeg, ground, .25 tsp Cream * Butter, unsalted, 14 tbsp * Granulated Sugar, 1.75 cup add * Molasses, 2 tbsp Mix together and add slowly to sugar mixture * Egg, fresh, 2 large * Egg Yolk, 3 large * Vanilla Extract, 1 tspadd * Ginger Root, 3 tsp Mix these together, then add 1/3 to butter mixture,with 1/2 of buttermilk, mix 5 seconds, again, and rest of flour mix. *Flour, white, 2.25 cup * Baking Powder, .5 tsp * Baking Soda, .5 tsp * Salt, .5 tsp * Buttermilk, lowfat, 1 cup Frosting * Butter, unsalted, 5 tbsp * Powdered Sugar, 1.25 cup, unsifted * Cream Cheese, 8 oz * Vanilla Extract, .5 tsp Decorate top with: * Walnuts, .25 cup pieces or chips
