Chickpea burgers

Ingredients
400g chickpeas (garbanzo beans)110g sesame seeds80g mushrooms1 celery stick1 small onion1 Tbsp soya sauceSunflower oil to fry (2 Tbsp)
Directions
Mash the chickpeas in a bowl
Finely chop the onion, celery and mushrooms and add to the chickpeas
Put the sesame seeds through a liquidiser and add to the burger mix
Knead with your hands to combine all ingredients
Add soya sauce, knead a little more and shape into four burgers
Fry in a little oil - high heat at first to brown the outsides, then reduce heat until cooked through

    I've only ever eaten chickpeas in casserole dishes. Although MH is not too keen on them, I'll make these burgers and see if he notices what's in them LOL ..........he won't !! - 5/2/10
