This recipe tasted very good. I was very full after eating a bowl of this (which was like 1 1/2 cups). It made me wonder about the calories quoted, especially with the large amount of beans, and only 1 can tomatoes. So, I added up all the calories, and I got 272 per cup, not 127. - 11/4/10

This is one of our favorites. Very easy, tasty, and it feeds a BUNCH of people! I add a diced medium onion while I'm browning the meat, and substitute yellow hominy for the corn. We usually serve with jalapeno cornbread. Just the thing for cool evenings when you don't have a lot of time to cook! - 4/13/09

This soup was excellent. My 9 year-old son loves it and asks for seconds. I mixed each serving with 1/4 cup of brown rice and added 2 Tbsp. of salsa to mine. Fantastic! It's a great recipe for using up beans in your pantry. - 9/29/09

We make this too but we use ground turkey and we also use 40 percent low sodium taco seasoning instead of the ranch due to the sodium content. It's very good. - 4/13/09

    yummy...without meat too! - 10/17/09

This was great. I made it with less liquid so it would be more like chili. I also added additional spices so it would be spicier, we like things with a kick. Had friends over and ended up using as a dip with tortilla chips. Huge success@ Will make again! - 8/14/09

Awesummmm! I was totally amazed by this recipe. I did use a lean ground turkey and rinsed the higher sodium beans.
I also recalculated the calories and come out with 187 per 1 cup serving. So I added the ingredients to make taco salad and SCORE! Awesome supper-ness! - 2/11/11

Really good recipe. I made it a little thicker and it turned out like some of the best chili I've ever made. - 6/20/09

Calorie count is nowhere near right. I looked into the background of the recipe. 2 cans of beans is way more than 0.96 cups. Tasty soup, but the calories listed are far from right. - 1/16/13

I love this dish. Its great, and it reheats well after being frozen. I have never put corn in it (always forget). I cook a lot every few weeks and freeze t for work. - 3/1/08

Excellent and easy to make. I made it with ground turkey and used frozen corn. I also used Chef Meg's taco seasoning recipe instead of a package. I wish there were more vegies in it though, if I make it again I might add some. - 1/25/15

FLAVOR 10---but the recipe is not accurate for nutritional calculations , everything is off but I did do a recipe makeover for our own calculations and came up with 300 per cup....it is very filling - 4/22/13

TASTY - what makes it incredible is how fast and easy it is! I added 2 TBSP of chopped garlic (we love garlic) & I added one can of beef broth to make it soupy. I used Southwestern ranch dressing mix as that is what I had on hand. I topped my bowl off with aTbsp. of fat free plain yogurt. YUM! - 4/13/09

Definitely more calories than quoted. The beans alone are probably around 170 calories. When you add the meat it almosr 250 plus tomatoes etc. Could still be within calorie range but don't be fooled into thinking there are only 134 cal. That is the calories in 1/2 cup. - 1/19/21
