Grilled Romaine with Green Goddess Dressing

DRESSING (makes ablout 3/4 cup):1 ripe avocado, peeled and dices1/3 cup reduced fat buttermile1/4 cup fresh flat leaf parsley leaves2 table spoons mayo (light)2 table spoons thinly slices fresh chives1/4 teaspoon minced garlic2 table spoons freshly squeezed lemon juiceSalad:1 bag (3pack) romaine hearts4 tablespoons extra vergin olive oil1 cup drained mandarin range segments (jared or canned)1/2 cup almond slices
To make dressing; in a blender, puree avocado, buttermilk, parsley, mayo, chives, garlic, and lemon juice. Season to taste with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper.
To make salad: Heat a clean grill to med high. Cut romaine hearts in half lengthwise. Brush romaine with oil and season to taste with kosher salt and ground pepper. Grill, turning freequently, until slightly charred but not heated all the way through, about 5 min.
Place grilled romaine on plates. Drizzle with dressing to taste and garnish with mandrine oranges and almnd slices.
Serve immediately.
Note: I have grilled on my cast iron pans also in replace of the grill.
