Lentils, 2 cup (remove)Water, tap, 5 cup (8 fl oz) (remove)Salt, 1 tbsp (remove)Pepper, black, 1 tsp (remove)Turmeric, ground, 1 tsp (remove)*Cumin seed, 1 tsp (remove)*Coriander leaf, dried, 1 tbsp (remove)Onions, raw, 0.5 cup, chopped (remove)Red Ripe Tomatoes, 1 medium whole (2-3/5" dia) (remove)
Wash a cup each of yellow and pink lentils. Put in a heavy saucepan. Add water and all other ingredients except coriander leaves and chopped tomoat. Bring the mix to a boil and reduce heat to medium low. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes until the lentil is cooked and has a creamy texture. In the last five minutes and tomato and corinader leaves. A delicous protein rich main dish, have it with bread or rice. It is gluten,lactose and fat free.
