Split pea soup

Ingredients
Saute onions in oil oil until transparent, add garlic to the sauteed onions. Chopped the vegetables and add to peas and hot water in saucepan. Add the basil and liquid smoke. Bring water to a boil and then reduce to simmer - cook for about 3 hours until peas are done. If soup thickens too much, add more water. Serve it with a scoop of plain non fat yogurt on top for added calcium.
