The Best Vegan French Bread

Ingredients
4.5 cups bread flour1 3/4 cups warm water1 Tablespoon Earth Balance spread1/2 Tablespoon salt1 ounce baking yeast
Directions
Mix water, margarine, sugar and salt. Sprinkle yeast on top and let rest for 10 minutes. Stir in 4.5 cups of flour with fork. Do not knead. Let rise until double.

Punch down and form dough into a ball. Flatten into a rectangular shape, then roll into a long loaf. Let rise on an oiled cookie sheet until almost double.

Put a pan of boiling water on the bottom of a 400F oven and bake. After 15 minutes, reduce heat to 350F for about 30 minutes. Five minutes before bread is done, brush loaf with melted Earth Balance spread.
