Chocolate Mousse Cake

Ingredients

7 oz semisweet chocolate chips4 eggs, separated3/4 cup butter1 cup sugar, divided8 oz semisweet chocolate chips16 oz heavy cream
Cake:
Melt chocolate and butter.
Beat egg yolks w/ 1/2 cup sugar & add to chocolate mixture.
Beat egg whites w/ 1/2 cup sugar until fluffy & stiff.
Fold egg whites into chocolate mixture.
Pour into 9" cake pan and bake about 45 minutes @ 350.
Cool.
Heat cream to boiling & remove from heat.
Stir in chocolate chips until melted & blended.
Cool to warm or room temperature, then beat with electric mixer to thicken.
Spread mousse on top of cake and/or fill in collapsed center of cake. Chill to firm.
Best served at cool room temperature.
