SAUSAGE BREAKFAST STRATA - Low-fat

Ingredients
6 slices whole wheat bread, crusts removed4 Tbsp. Olivio margarine2 Tbsp. canola oil1 lb. 93% lean ground turkey 8 oz. Low-fat Colby-Jack cheese, shredded4 Egg Beaters2 egg whites, lightly beaten2 cups skim milk2 1/2" Vidalia onion, chopped (or green onions)1 tsp. minced garlic2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce4 shakes hot sauce1 Tbsp. steak sauce1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper1 tsp. fennel seed1 tsp. dry basilSmoky paprika
Directions
Spread bread with margarine. Place in sprayed 13x9x2" casserole pan.
Heat canola oil in skillet. Crumble turkey into skillet. Cook gently, stirring to keep it in small pieces, until no longer pink. Lift out of skillet with slotted spoon. Spread over bread. Discard fat.
Sprinkle cheese over meat.
In bowl, combine eggs, milk, onions, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings. Mix well. Pour over cheese. Sprinkle with paprika. Cover.
Chill overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove casserole from refrigerator and let stand about 30 minutes, to warm to room temperature. Bake strata, uncovered, until set, about 45-50 minutes. Let stand a few minutes before cutting into squares.
