Stewed Tomatoes

Ingredients
1 (14.5 ounce) can whole tomatoes, undrained2 to 3 teaspoons sugar1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon pepper1 to 2 tablespoons light butter
Directions
Cut or break tomatoes with your hands into bite sized chunks. Put tomatoes, margarine, sugar, salt and pepper into a small saucepan.

Heat to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low. Let simmer for 20-30 minutes or until tomatoes are cooked, soft, and the flavors have blended.

Add more butter, sugar, salt or pepper if needed for balance.

Stewed tomatoes ca be served with a few croutons on top of each individual serving.
