1.73 lbs lean ground beef2 cups frozen corn16 oz. Bush's Navy Beans16 oz Bush's Light Red Kidney Beans15 oz Ranch Style Black Beans14.5 oz Del Monte Diced No Salt Added Tomatoes29 oz hunt's Tomato Sauce2 tbsp minced garlicDiced Medium Onion1/2 tbsp cocoa powder1 tbsp paprika1/4 tsp cayenne1/2 tsp salt2 tbsp cumin1 tbsp thyme
Makes 10 Servings
Brown meat, onion, garlic, and spices. Once fully cooked drain the meat.
Drain the canned beans and put in slow cooker.
Add meat to slow cooker.
Add corn to slow cooker.
Cook on high for about 2 hours or on low for 6 hours. This dish is super versatile.
Serve with cornbread and maybe a bit of cheese on top!
This recipe would have way less salt if I used dry beans instead of canned. Enjoy! Also, add spices to your taste. Most spices are pretty free of calories, so just add what you like. I find most chili recipes to be a springboard, not a steadfast recipe! :)
