Ingredients
basmati rice - 1 cupyellow moong dal - 0.5 cupginger root - grated / bruised - as neededgreen chillies - 2-3 splitred chilli powder - 0.5 tspcumin powder - 0.5 tspgaram masala - 0.5 tsplemon juice - 1 tbsp for tempering -1 tbsp oil1 tsp cumin seedhing1 tsp turmeric
Directions
temper the ingredients in hot oil in a pressure cooker
add ginger,chillies. stir fry
add red chilli powder , cumin powder, garam masala, stir 1 min
add washed and drained rice +lentil.
stir fry 2-3 min
add 4 cups water, salt , cover and cook 10 -1 5 min
open, adjust salt, add lemon , the rice should not be dry,
it should be very soft, and have a thick -porridge like consistency. serve with pickle and yogurt.
