Apple Galette

Ingredients
Directions
pastry:- 2 cup of flour- 1/2 cup butter, unsalted, cut into cubs- 2 tablespoon sugar- 1/2 tsp salt- 1/2 tsp vanilla- 2 tablespoon of cold, ice water- 1 tablespoon of butter, unsaltedfillings:- 1 tsp of cinnamon- 8 tablespoon of brown sugar- 2 tablespoon of flour- 8 granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced into 1/2 inch wedges
For the pastry:
- mix together all the sugar, salt, and flour
- add flour mixture and the cubed butter into a large bowl
- use fingers to mix the butter into the flour mixture until crumb-like consistency
- add vanilla and cold water into the mixture and make into dough
**be sure not to over mix***
- make it to a disc and place in the fridge for 15min.
Meanwhile, prepared the fillings by:
- mix cinnamon, brown sugar, and flour together
- tossed the granny smith apples into the sugar mixture until coated

1) Preheat Oven to 450 degrees F
2) Take the dough out of fridge and divide dough as evenly as possible into 12 dough portions
3) Slightly floured the table, and roll the portions into sphere, and then pressed it flat on the table, and use a rolling pin to make a 4-5" diameter round sheet
4) Piled up apples in the center of dough, and fold the sides up against the apples, remember that the dough is not meant to cover the apples.
5) Placed finished galettes on a parchment lined baking sheet.
6) After all 12 is done, brush a little butter on the edge of the dough so that it comes out nice and golden.
7) Cooked until the edge of the galette is golden brown, and when the fork is inserted on the apples, it is tender, which is able 40-45mins.
