1 lb Spicy Italian Sausage - crumbled1/2 lb smoked bacon - chopped1 qt. water(2) 14.5 oz. cans 99% fat free chicken broth2 large russet potatoes - cubed2 garlic cloves, chopped1 medium onion, chopped2 cups chopped kare or swiss chard1 cup fat free half & halfSalt & pepper to taste
Makes eight 2-cup servings. In a skillet over medium high heat, brown sausage, breaking into small pieces as you go. Drain and set aside. In a skillet over medium high heat, brown bacon. Drain and set aside. Place water, broth, potatoes, garlic and onion in a pot. SImmer over medium heat until potatoes are tender. Add sausage and bacon to pot. Simmer 10 minutes. Add kale and half & half. Season with salt & pepper. Heat through.
