"Fried" Green Tomatoes

Ingredients
3 medium green tomatoes thinly sliced 1 cup cornmeal 1 tablespoon oregano 1 tbsp old bay seasoning celtic salt to taste freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

Lightly grease a medium baking sheet.

In a small bowl, mix the cornmeal, oregenao, old bay season, salt, and pepper.

Dip tomato slices into the mixture, coating both sides. Arrange coated slices in a single layer on a medium baking sheet.

Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven, until crisp and golden brown.

Serve immediately and enjoy!

    This was a great idea, we really liked them. I cooked mine 30 min on 400, flipping once, which made them super crispy. I did dip mine in egg whites to encourage the breading to stick. Extra protein can't hurt either! - 9/29/08
