I'm not sure if there was something wrong with the recipe, but I followed it exactly and they didn't even really turn out like muffins. The batter was very think and I had to shove it down into the muffin tins. Turned out better when I added some applesauce for moisture, but still very bland. - 10/16/07

Delicious! At first I thought "that's a lot of apples" but I think I will try with even more to spread this out further. I did not use any sugar but I used about 1/4 cup Splenda. I also used 1/2 cup applesauce and 1 Tbsp.oil. I love these! The tops turn out very nice too! - 9/11/08

Next time I make these I'm going to use about 3/4 the baking soda, none of the sweetener and sugar, and twice the cinnamon. Still tasty! - 2/15/09

I followed another review and used only wheat flour at 1 1/4 cup and upped the applesauce to 3/4 cup. I also had to add a 4th apple because i forgot to peel until they were already sliced and lost a lot of the apples. Mine only took 15 mins to bake and made 16 muffins. Will update later once I've tr - 10/18/16

Are the apples supposed to be pureed? The recipe doesn't say what to do with the apples so I coarsely chopped them and mixed them in to the batter. The batter was too thick so i spread it in an 8x8 pan and baked for 20 minutes. This is very dry so i'm serving it with vanilla yogurt. - 9/23/12

These were so great! I cut back on the sugar as well. With so many apples it all isn't needed. The apples naturally sweeten the muffin up! This recipe is good for a special breakfast to share with friends! - 11/13/08
