Healthier Frangipane Pithivier

Ingredients
1/2 pkg. Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry (1 sheet)2 eggs3/4 c. whole almonds1/2 c. Splenda granulated6 Tbsp. Brummel and Brown1/4 c. whole wheat King Arthur flour2 Tbsp. Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
Directions
THAW pastry sheets at room temperature 30 min. Preheat oven to 375°F.

PLACE almonds and splenda in food processor. Cover and pulse on and off until finely ground, about 1 min. Add 1 egg and continue to pulse until smooth paste forms. Add butter, a little at a time, pulsing after each addition. Scrape down sides of bowl. Add remaining egg and pulse until smooth. Add flour and rum and pulse until just blended.

UNFOLD 1 pastry sheet. Place sheet in 9" tart pan. Top with almond mixture.

BAKE 45 min. or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack.

Serve with chocolate sauce, if desired.

Optionally: Mix an additional egg with 1 Tbsp water. Unfold 2nd pastry sheet and place on top. Trim pastry to fit. Crimp edges and cut slits in top. Brush with egg mixture. Then place in oven for 45 min.
