French Toast (Banana Nut)

1/2 Cup (1 stick) Butter, melted1 Cup packed brown sugar1/2 Cup chopped walnuts or pecans4 Ripe Bananas cut 1/2 inch thick slices1 16oz loaf French Bread cut 1 inch thick slices6 large eggs2 cups milk2 tsp cinnamon1/2 tsp nutmeg2 tsp vanilla extractWhipped Cream, optional
Combine butter, brown sugar, nuts in a small bowl.
Spread evenly over the bottom of a 9x13 pan.
Layer banana slices and then bread slices on top of brown sugar mix.
In a medium bowl whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.
Pour evenly over bread slices and press slices down to absorb egg mixture.
Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Bake uncovered for 50-55 minutes or until knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool for 10 minutes.
Cut into slices and flip upside down on each plate.
Refrigerate leftovers.
