Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef1 cup celery, chopped1 cup onion, shopped1 med. bell pepper, chopped1 can (14.5 oz) Italian Style stewed tomatoes1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste1.5 tsp dried basil1.25 tsp salt0.25 tsp black pepper1 (16 oz.) box of Ziti0.5 cup seasoned bread crumbs2 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
Heat oven to 375 and grease 13x11 pan. Brown ground beef and drain excess fat. Add celery, onion and green pepper. Cook and stir until tender. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, basil, salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low. Simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook ziti according to directions on box. Place cooked ziti in baking dish. Spoon mixture over ziti. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and cheese. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cheese melts. Makes approximately 10 servings (1.75 cups each).
