Ingredients
1 head of cabbage cut into thin strips1 slice of ham cut into small pieces (this could be left out or replaced with another meat, but it does add to the substance of the dish)3 Table spoons of molasses1 tsp Worcestershire sauce1 tsp ground caraway seeds (you could used whole as well, I like to grind my own so that I have some whole seeds remaining)1/2 cup of vegetable stock (could be switched for any other stock)
Directions
Serves 8 approximately 1/2 cup servings.

Preheat the oven to 390*F

Cut the cabbage into strips and boil in salted water for 10 mins before draining.

Cut the ham and in a bowl combine it with the molasses, Worcestershire sauce, and caraway seeds. (Caraway is a less usual spice, but is really necessary in the dish).

Add the cabbage to the ham mixture and mix them together. Place in a baking dish.

Add the stock over the top. The liquid is really just to keep the dish moist.

Cover the dish in foil and bake for 50 mins. I usually check half way through to check that there is enough liquid that the bottom of the dish is covered. If it seems low you could add some more stock or water, but it should be fine.

Take it out and eat it immediately or refrigerate for later. It reheats in the microwave quite well.
