Ingredients
Directions
1 pound ground turkey1 egg2 loaves frozen bread dough1 tbsp non-fat milk2 cups shredded cabbage1 cup chopped onions1/4 cup fresh parsley1 tsp chopped garlic1/4 cup ketchup1 cup low-fat shredded cheese
1. Brown ground beef, then add cabbage, onion, parsley, garlic, and ketchup to mixture. Saute until all ingredients are blended. Lastly, add the cheese and stir until it is just melted, then remove from heat.
2. Roll loaves of frozen bread dough out very thin (1/8 – 1/4 inch thick). Use a medium sized bowl to cut circles from the dough. Place the circle of dough on a greased cookie sheet, then spoon some of the filling onto one half of the dough circle. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling, and then use a fork to crimp and seal the edges. Repeat until you are out of bread dough and/or filling.
3. Mix 1 egg and 1 tbsp milk, and then brush the top of each pocket with a bit of the mixture. Sprinkle with seasoning salt.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until tops are a light golden brown. Let cool for 5 – 10 minutes, and then enjoy!
Recipe should make 8 – 12 sandwiches, depending on the size of the circle you use.
