Caramelized Onion Spread

5 cups cooked onions, sliced1 T butter1 Pkg Philadelphia Cream Cheese, thawed1/2 c mayo1/2 c sour cream1/4 t cayenne pepper, or to tastesalt, optional
Cook onions in pan with butter. Cook until carmalized. Add water if needed to keep moist until golden brown. Set aside let cool.
In bowl add cream cheese, mix to get smooth add mayo, sour cream and mix well. Add cayenne pepper to taste and mix thoroughly. Put half the onions thru a food processor to mulch up a little bit; you can add more or less depending on your preference. Mix all remaining onions into cheese mix and mix well. Refrigerate. Servings approximately 1/4 c each makes about 12 servings
