Vegan Spaghetti alla Carbonara

Ingredients
4 oz whole-wheat spaghetti2 tsp olive oil1/4 large onion, chopped1 clove garlic, chopped4 strips Smart Bacon (meatless bacon), sliced or cubed1 tbsp all-purpose flour1 tbsp nutritional yeast1 cup unsweetened soymilk1 tsp dried basilSalt and pepper to taste
Directions
Cook pasta based on package directions. While pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a medium frying pan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauteeing for a few minutes until the onions start to get translucent. Add Smart Bacon and sautee a few minutes longer. Sprinkle flour and nutritional yeast and stir. While stirring, slowly add in enough soymilk to get a slightly thick sauce, paying attention to take care of any lumps. Add basil, salt, and pepper. Toss drained cooked spaghetti with sauce and serve.
