Granpattie's Lentil and Ham Soup

Ingredients
2 15.5 oz. bag of Lentils6 cups of Low-Sodium V812 cups of water2 cups diced ham1.5 cups finely diced carrots1.5 cups finely diced celery1 large onion finely dicedOR1/4 cup minced onion, dehydrated4 bayleaves1 Tbls. dried basildash of pepper1 tsp. of Tone's pizza seasoning
Directions
1. Dice ham ( with all visible fat removed) and vegetables finely, or size to suit taste.

2. Rinse lentils in a colander.

3. Add all ingredients to 8-12 qt. pot; stir well.

4. Simmer over low heat for approximately 2 hours, stirring occasionally. It will cook down and thicken.

Makes about 12 servings, 2-cups each
