I didn't use raisins and used almonds instead of pecans. The .25 lb apples were hard to core so I halved them. I mixed the filling by hand, it was the only way to get it to come together. I sprinkled the apples with cinnamon and spread the filling over. Baked them cut side up and they were awesome! - 12/16/12

A really tasty way to get my "apple a day" and extra fiber too. I increased the cinnamon to 1/2 tsp because I'm Diabetic ..... and I just really enjoy the taste of cinnamon with apple! - 4/13/11

This was delicious! If you can't find small apples, I'd recommend splitting the filling between 2 apples instead of 4. - 6/11/11

These were OK. If I make them again I will leave out the oatmeal because it didn't taste good at all and even seemed undercooked. - 2/26/11

I like two large apples split and filling on top much better. Same ingredients. I find Granny Smith too tart and hard, I prefer Gala or Winesap when one can find them. I also take a medium apple: wash, split, core, slice in1/4" slices. Dust well with cinnamon or apple pie spice and Microwave 3 min. - 12/16/12

Only had Gala apples but I gave this a shot. Used 2 because they were on the large side, and put all the filling in them and baked 'em a little longer. Tasted great - a perfect breakfast. - 12/16/12

It helped with the craving for sweets that I had. But don't eat it thinking it will taste like apple pie. - 4/18/11

Love baked apples, do them as half apples with the filling sprinkled on top, use more spices,Love apples very soft, cook them an hour or more until they are starting to splint open. I double recipe. I have tried all variety apples, Macintosh cooks faster, some are a harder apple and take longer. - 9/6/19
