Smothered Cabbage

Ingredients
1 - head of green cabbage (sliced)1 - medium onion (chopped)1/3 lb - bacon
Directions
In a large pot cook bacon, remove bacon leaving fat in pot. Add chopped onion and cook in bacon fat for 3 - 5 min. Add sliced cabbage and bacon and saute for 10 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste.

    This is something my family enjoys - I was glad to find it already posted here. It can be changed up using turkey kielbasa in place of the bacon ( or turkey bacon when trying to be healthier). Just cabbage alone with a little onion needs no oil or water as it releases enough on its own & reduces. - 9/17/08
