French Bread

Ingredients
2.5-3 cups AP flour1 cup warm water2.5 tsp yeast2 tsp sugar1 tsp salt1 tbsp butter
Directions
Proof yeast in warm water with a pinch of sugar. In a separate bowl mix flour, sugar, salt. When yeast is proofed add butter, melted. Slowly add flour to water/yeast mixture until an elastic dough is formed. Knead for 8-10 minutes, and let rise for 30-40 minutes. Punch down and form into shape of your choice and place on greased baking sheet sprinkled with cornmeal. Let rest for 10 minutes, and bake at 220 C until done, about 30 minutes for a baguette shaped loaf. Makes about 10 good sized slices.
