Ingredients
4.5 c. flour (I use 2.5 c. white, and 2 c. white wheat).25 c. sugar2 tsp. baking powder2 sticks blue bonnet margerine cold1c. unsweetened apple sauce and about a .25 c. on reserve1 tbsp. maple flavoring if you choose Sometimes I add walnuts as well
Directions
In a large bowl mix together dry ingredients. In a different bowl put together the syrup, apple sauce and nuts if so desired. Cut the butter/margerine into the dry ingredients, then combine with wet ingredients. Sometimes I have to add the little extra apple sauce here to get everything to mix well. Roll out about 1 inch thick and then cut. Place on a non-stick cookie sheet or a greased one and cook at 400 for 15-20 minutes.
