Ingredients
Ingredients: Cake, dry mix, pudding-type, 1 package Unsweetened Apple Sauce, 2 cupsLow fat cream cheese, 8 oz, room temp.Kraft Kool Whip Free, 1 tub, room tempVanilla Extract, 1 tsp Powdered Sugar, 1/4 cup
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix cake mix & apple sauce together well in a large bowl with a blender. Be careful not to over-blend. (you will de-activate the baking soda in the mix- DO NOT ADD OTHER INGREDIENTS. CAKE MIX & APPLE SAUCE, THAT IS IT).

Bake in pre-heated oven according to manufacturer's instructions per the pan(s) you are using. Keep a close eye on the cake(s)- sometimes this bakes up faster than the manufacturer suggests. Begin checking for desired doneness about 5 minutes before the bake time is up.

Allow cakes to cool completely.

In a medium bowl, turn out the tub of room temperature Kool Whip. Cut the cream cheese into manageable chunks, and add to bowl. Whip very very well with hand mixer to blend. Add powdered sugar & vanilla. Whip very well with hand mixer again, making sure everything is well incorporated.

When cakes are completely cooled, frost as desired. Chill for about an hour to firm up frosting & serve.

This cake makes 16 servings. I usually make 2 round pans, frost them as individual cakes, and then share one with a dear friend.

ENJOY!
