Ingredients
Use blender to mix all the ingridients and including spices. I use fresh basil whenever possible. I clean the red pepper and wrap in paper towel to cook in the microwave on the fresh vegetable setting - probably a minute or so on hgh. I like it very spicy and very tangy so my hot spices and lemon juice is never an exact measure. I blend it until it is pretty smooth. I put into small containers - about serving size for 1 or 2 people. Eat on bread, celery, chips or whatever suits your taste. My serving size is about a half cup.
Directions
Soak chickpeas overnight and then cook for an hour in water, after bringing them to a boil. You can salt them while cooking (to taste). Canned chickpeas can be substituted - no cooking required. I prefer soaking and boiling my own.
