Whole Wheat Waffles, low sodium, low fat

Ingredients
1 egg, beaten3/4 cup skim milk1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce1 tsp vanilla1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp whole wheat flour1/2 cup oatmeal2 Tbsp wheat germ2 tsp no sodium baking powder1-1/2 tsp splenda
Directions
Whisk together egg,milk, applesauce and vanilla. Beat in flour, oatmeal, wheat germ, baking powder, sugar, salt (and may add cinnamon if desired).
Coat preheated waffle iron with cooking spray. Pour batter into waffle iron and cook till golden brown. Makes 4 good sized waffles.
