Yes, but here in the U.S. we also call fried potatoes French fries, toast dipped in egg French toast and chicken in an egg wash with a lemon cream sauce Chicken French. None of these recipes comes from France... go figure... LOL This does sound better than the bottled red dressing called "French." - 9/30/13

Liked this a lot. Used 2 T olive oil, 3T honey instead of sugar, and raw apple cider vinegar for the white. Great taste, low fat!!!!!!!!!!! - 10/24/08

The recipe ingredients shows white wine vinegar but the nutritional breakdown shows applecider vinegar. I'm sure the calories would be the same. Curious as to why though. It lools good and will make it today. - 4/15/19

Just like my mom used to make. Very good on greens of any kind. I used a little less sugar and also used Amy's organic ketchup. I love these simple but flavorfull recipes that let me control the amount of dangerous chemicals that go in my body. - 12/7/13

Really good! I used 4 T. of sugar and it was still sweet enough. I did add 2 T. water to make it a little thinner. Very, very good! Thank you so much for posting! - 9/4/12

A great low-cal alternative to French dressing. It was a bit thick, so next time I make it, I'll add 3 tablespoons of water. - 1/11/10
