Slow Cooker American Chop Suey

1 package elbow macaroni2 T. olive oil (or other vegetable oil)1.25 or 1.5 lbs. ground beef, turkey or chicken12 oz. tomato paste15 oz. can diced tomatoes1 tsp. oregano1 T. dried onion flakes1/2 tsp. garlic powder2 T. sherry or red wine
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Cook meat until no longer pink.
Add oil to pasta, stir well and add to slow cooker. Add meat and all other ingredients. Stir well. Cover and cook on Low 4-6 hours (or High 2-3 hours).
Add Parmesan cheese when serving.
