Stuffed Mushrooms

2 Tbsp Margarine melted1/4 tsp Thyme ground2 Tbsp chopped Green pepper12 Large button mushrooms with stems removed Stems from mushrooms chopped and set aside2 Tbsp onion chopped3/4 C. Bread Crumbs italian season flavor2 Tbsp of bacon bits3 oz of Provolone cheese slices divided into 12 pcs.
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Remove stems from mushrooms, set caps aside and chop stems. Chop onions and peppers.
Melt 1 tbsp of margarine in skillet over medium heat. Saute mushroom stems, onions, and green peppers until tender. Put in a bowl and mix in bacon bits, bread crumbs, and thyme. Mix well!
Spoon the mixture into the mushroom caps and place in a shallow dish.
Melt remaining margarine and drizzle over mushrooms. Top each mushroom with a piece of the cheese slices.
Bake for 15 minutes and serve hot. Serves 12 as an appetizer or 6 as a side item.
