Banana Nut Chocolate Chip Whole Grain Muffins

1 cup whole wheat flour1/4 cup each: cornmeal, oats and wheat bran(You can substitute 1/4 cup ww flour for any of these you don't have on hand.) 1/4 cup wheat germ OR ground flax seed1 T. baking powder1 t. salt1 cup (about 1 1/2 medium) bananas, mashed1/2 cup milk1 egg1/4 cup brown sugar, packed1/4 cup vegetable oil1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Grease muffin tins or use foil muffin cup liners. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine dry ingredients and set aside. Mash banana and add milk, egg, brown sugar and oil, mixing well. Stir in dry ingredients, then nuts and semi-sweet chips. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full and bake for 20 minutes.
