Dad's Venison Chili

1.5 lbs ground venison3 - 4 medium onions, finely chopped1 bell pepper, diced1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes1 28 oz can diced tomatoes2 15 oz cans Kidney Beans, drained and rinsed3 tsp chili powder1 tsp salt2 - 3 tsp ground black pepper2 - 3 cloves garlic
Brown garlic, add and brown venison. Transfer to slow cooker, add the rest of the ingredients. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3. Or simmer 2 - 3 hours stove top. Add Kidney beans in the last half hour for either method.
This makes mild to moderate chili. For my young kids, I cut it even more, 2 tsp chili powder and 1.5 tsp ground pepper. Add more spices if you like it spicier.
Freezes well. Remove amount you want to freeze before adding beans and adjust beans accordingly.
