- Minutes to Cook:
- Number of Servings: 10
Ingredients
Directions
2 (24 ounce) jars brand name tomato and basil spaghetti sauce4 turkey sausages (2 ounces each)1 pound ground chicken3 cloves garlic3/4 cup pasta water (see directions)
Set a pot of water, enough to boil your pasta, on the stove to boil.
Brown the chicken (about 10 minutes) and the sausage (about 10 minutes) in a non-stick pan using no oil. After the chicken is brown the water should be ready to add the pasta; cook the pasta while the sausage browns.
While the meat browns and the water heats, pour the bottled sauce into a pan. As each meat is browned add it to the sauce. While the pasta boils, take 3/4 cup of the pasta water and add it to the sauce. Add 3 cloves of garlic and heat until hot.
About a minute before your pasta is cooked, take 1/2 cup of the pasta water and pour it into a pasta serving bowl (this heats the bowl and helps keep the pasta warm for serving). Pour out the water just before adding the pasta.
When the pasta is done drain it, add it to the heated pasta dish, and pour 1/2 of the completed sauce onto it. Use the remaining sauce within five days or freeze it up to two months. NOTE: add the pasta to your SparkPeople list as a separate item from this sauce.
Serving Size: Makes ten servings, about 1 cup each
Number of Servings: 10
