Ingredients
1 Package - 99% Fat Free Ground Turkey (I use Shday Brook Farms, which only comes in 1.23 lb, or about 3 lb pacakges. I use the 1.23 lb package for this recipe)1 can - Kidney beans (do not drain liquid)12 oz. - Any tomato sauce (homemade or jar)1/2 jar - Old El Paso Fresh Mexican Style Smooth Pineapple Chile Salsa5 oz. - Crushed Pineapple (I use Dole crushed pineapple in juice)Chili Powder (as much or as little as suits your taste)
Directions
- Brown the turkey over medium heat until no longer pink.
- Drain any excess fat.
- Combine all ingredients in a crock pot.
- Cook on high for 2.5 hours.
- Top with low fat sharp cheddar or fat free sour cream, if it suits you.

Tip: This dish tends to have a little kick to it due to the Pineapple Chile Salsa, so if you prefer something a little less spicy, I recommend skipping the extra chili powder.

Makes approximately 5-6 servings.

This sounds really interesting. I've never before used pineapple in my Chili. I read recently that you should always drain and rinse your canned beans & vegetables before using to lower sodium content. I used to always drain but not rinse--I now rinse them, too. - 4/27/10

I just made this today and wow it was great and I cant believe how simple it is to make. Only thing I did different was that I could not find the salsa that it called for so I use Newman's Own Medium Pineapple salsa. It tasted amazing and I would recommend this to all my family and friends. - 4/19/13

Incredible!!!! I am always looking for Chili alternatives as I live on soups in the winter. This was so yummy. I low carb and I am a gastric bypass patient this receipe was perfect just a few months out of surgery. Will be making it over and over. - 10/16/12

Calories listed aren't correct. Kidney beans aren't added to the nutritional breakdown- I got 250 cal/ serving. Couldn't find the salsa so found grilled pineapple chipotle salsa (Meijer). Added 1 c onion, garlic, fire roasted tomatoes, drained beans and rinsed. Was really thick. Nice combo of flav! - 7/24/12

I used the advice given by KRSOCCER19 and also tweaked this a little on my own by making my own tomato sauce and using a mixture of beans, and I WON 2ND PLACE IN A COOKOFF WITH THIS ONE! Mine was not runny at all and I had so many good reviews from people in the crowd... definitely a hit! Thanks! - 12/3/10

This was very good. I have never had a ground turkey recipe before so was very skeptical. Like a previous poster I could not find the Salsa so I used a chipotle pineapple salsa. - 10/13/10

haven't made it yet but by just draining the liquid out of the beans would probably help that some - 4/21/09

I made this for a chili feed at the Olympia Moose Lodge. It was a HUGE hit. We like things spicey so next time I think I will add more chili powder. I will also be making this at home!

I would use crushed tomatos instead of sauce next time. - 2/1/09

VERY delicious! I'm a huge lover of spice and sweet, and this is a new staple of mine. For the record, I used a different organic pineapple chipotle salsa simply because the Old El Paso version wasn't available. I also omitted about 4 oz of tom. sauce as the above poster said it was a bit saucey. - 1/14/09

Yum! Hubby, son and son's girlfriend all enjoyed this with me! It was very saucy; probably did not need so much tomato sauce; I used a slotted spoon to put the leftovers away and that was fine! This will be a wintertime staple! - 11/8/07
