Ingredients
5 medium tomatoesabout a cup of fresh basilpinch of salt ( to taste)Optional: to add some heat you might add: garlic, hot peppers, other spices.to add sweetness and color: red bell pepper
Directions
add all ingredients in a blender and blend well. Use more tomatoes or more basil depending on your individual taste.

    I skip the salt and use celery instead. It also works great with other herbs, such as cilantro. This is PHENOMENAL when you can use homegrown tomatoes that have been picked ripe. - 5/23/11
