Meemaw's Fresh Apple Cake

Ingredients
4c sliced, peeled apples1/4 t salt2/3 stick margarine, melted2c flour2c sugar2t baking soda2t cinnamon2 eggs
Directions
Peel and slice 4 c baking apples, sprinkle salt over apples and set aside. Mix remaining ingredients, fold in apples. The mixture will look very dry, don't panic this may well be the moistest cake I have ever had. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Makes 20 servings about 2 1/2" square. It got it's second name because one of the nieces as a toddler was so fond of it that she would just reach under the foil and serve herself. If it lasts long enough at your house to cool off the top will get a crunchy layer.
