1 lb. Ground beef (calculated with 80% lean)1 large pinch kosher salt2 cloves garlic1 can red beans1 tablespoon Chili powder.5 teaspoon unsweeted cocoa powder1.5 teaspoon ground cumin seed.5 teaspoon paprika, preferably smoked1 teaspoon onion powdera generous shake of Adobo seasoning (optional).25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes.25 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper2 sprigs fresh oregano, finely chopped.25 cup waterjuice of 1 lime
Brown ground beef with minced garlic and large pinch of kosher salt. Drain fat and return to pan. Drain and rinse red beans and add to pan. Mix in all other ingredients and simmer gently for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve with taco shells or tortillas, and plenty of lettuce, tomato and fresh cilantro.
